How we do it
We work in short sections so the house is supported at every stage: excavate beneath the existing footing, form and pour a new deeper footing, let it cure, then move to the next section. Everything is formed and poured by our own crew. Bob plans the sequence for each house individually.

Can I stay in the house during underpinning? Usually yes. The work is done in sections so the house stays supported, and most of it happens below grade.
Can underpinning give me a full-height basement? Yes. Lowering the footings and floor is how a crawl space or low basement becomes a full basement. See our crawl space conversion page.
How do I know if my house is settling? Growing cracks, sloping floors and doors that no longer close square are the usual signs. Call 905-957-4406 and Bob will come and look at it, free.
